Khadi India 2.1.10

The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) is a statutory body established by the Government of India through the 'Khadi and Village Industries Commission Act of 1956'. It operates as a central authority under the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, focusing on the promotion and development of khadi and village industries across India. The primary objective of KVIC is to plan, facilitate, organize, and assist in establishing and nurturing khadi and village industries in rural areas, collaborating with other relevant rural development entities when necessary.

Within KVIC, various directorates have been created to oversee key functions such as training, marketing and sales, employment opportunities, financial management, budgeting, and research and development.

In alignment with the Prime Minister's vision of "Aatmnirbhar Bharat," the Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has taken steps to launch its official e-commerce platform. This initiative aims to offer a digital marketplace for all stakeholders to globally showcase and sell Khadi and Village Industries products. To facilitate this endeavor, a special purpose company named KVIO Ventures Private Limited has been formed through a public-private partnership with KVIC. This entity will be responsible for marketing and selling products produced by various institutions affiliated with KVIC, KVIB, REGP, PMEGP Units, SFURTI clusters, or any other units recognized by KVIC/KVIB under the brand/trademark "Khadi India."
